The Carriage Barn

The Carriage Barn was designed in 1884 by Isaac Elwood Scott and later remodeled by Hermann von Holst in 1906. The Barn was built to house Glessner's carriages and later remodeled as stables for the horses. On the upper floor was the coachman's housing. Later, in 1946, the barn was converted to hold cows after the cow barn burned. Today the Carriage Barn is used for farm storage and to hold many of our wreaths decorated at The Rocks over the winter.
